Summary of the Validation Process

  • Review Bilateral Agreements

Initially, we help clients examine the bilateral agreements. This allows us to fully understand the validation framework between the FAA and the foreign regulatory authority.

  • Application Submission

Next, JANA prepares and submits a comprehensive application package. This package includes the STC Design Data Package, a formal validation application form, and a draft letter. Moreover, this serves as the initial communication between the FAA and the foreign authority.

  • Coordination

Subsequently, our team establishes crucial communication between the FAA, the foreign authority, and the operator seeking validation. Because of this, JANA’s ODA actively maintains open communication throughout, thereby ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

  • Technical Review

The foreign authority may review the submitted data, assessing design changes for compliance with local regulations and safety standards. Additional data or modifications may be requested.

  • Additional Requirements

Fulfill any STC requirements imposed by the foreign authority, such as additional tests, inspections or specific amendments.

  • Issuance of Validation Certificate

Once the foreign authority is satisfied that the STC meets the applicable standards, a validation certificate is issued, recognizing the FAA STC as valid in that country. This certificate allows the certified modification to be legally implemented on aircraft registered in that country.
